| Theatre Of Angels was formed to develop an idealised relationship between actors, directors, designers, writers and other creative collaborators wanting to work with ensemble principles. The company is practicing and developing a genuine ensemble approach to theatre creation. It is an idealism celebrating: creative individuality; a sovereign imagination; deep democracy; an integrated personality and perpetual movement. These ideas have been absorbed from many people including: Carl Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Michael Chekhov, Rudolf Laban, Eugenio Barba, Ken Wilber and Howard Gardner.
Ensemble practice is intended to support a deeply democratic and collectively creative approach to modern theatre practice. It necessitates mutual respect and mutual recognition for each individual's contribution within the ensemble. It is encouraged and inspired by companies such as Improbable Theatre and Odin Teatret.
